Art News DFW was started in 2006 by artists Nancy Friedel and Sharon Giles in response to the concerns of DFW area art groups over a lack of communication between artists and art groups. At the time art groups were transitioning from snail mail to the internet as the main form of communication. The website has been a gift of love to the North Texas area art community and is a strictly not-for-profit enterprise.
Nancy retired some years ago and the principal webmaster Sharon Giles has now moved to the state of Washington.
After over twenty-two thousand posted notices since 2006 on all aspects of the visual arts in the area, the webmaster has made the decision to quit.
