Irving Art Association is celebrating Hispanic heritage and culture with El Cinco de Mayo ArtFest on May 7th from 1-4 pm.
Location: Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan Ave., Irving TX 75062. The surrounding park area has a children’s playground.
Irving-area families are invited to join in the child-friendly art activities. There will also be refreshments, face painting, and free raffles of art and art supplies.
Hispanic art and artists will be on display in three exhibits in the Center. In the large gallery, the IAA is hosting the El Clinco de May Exhibit competition. Two area Hispanic artists are featured in other exhibits: Raquel Gregory in the Spotlight Gallery and Jose Angel Hernandez in the small gallery with an exhibit of large canvases honoring iconic Hispanic figures.
Enter IAA’s El Cinco de Mayo Exhibit
All area artists from young to old are invited to submit 2-D and 3-D artworks for the exhibit, which will be held in the large gallery of the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan Dr., in Irving TX. The deadline to enter online is April 23rd. The Reception & Awards Ceremony will be held during the ArtFest on Saturday, May 7th from 1-4 PM.
