One on Ones with Bonny – free Zoom talk Jan. 18

Hi friends! Join me Tuesday, January 18th at 7pm CST for a “tour” through all the many offerings in my One-on-One and small groups sessions.

I‘ll be discussing and sharing some of the many processes, materials and techniques as a fantastic addition to explore, employ and develop in your own art making. Because there are so many processes on offer, you’ll have a chance to hear about all of them and opt in to schedule a free private Zoom call where we can dig deeper and talk about designing something right for you. Join in for this wonderful presentation and discussion – come for a listen and let’s see where it goes. There’ll be time for questions and I’m also providing links to MANY products below. I hope to see you there – let’s have fun with this! The Zoom link is below and I’ll be sending a reminder as we get closer. I’m looking forward to the great pleasure of seeing you on the Zoom, assisting you with your work and brainstorming new ideas. All the best for a wonderful creative 2022! Bonny.

Tyvek
Enjoy the beauty, fun and versatility in working with Tyvek. We’ll be ironing, inking and optionally using acrylics as well, then thinking about ways to attach and build forms.

Monotypes

Monotypes are an original printmaking process of laying down your paint – in this case on a heated surface with encaustic paint – and then gently laying the paper down to pick up the beautiful image. You can then work back into it with more encaustic paint and or inks. This is so much fun – a loose and freeing process. No encaustic painting experience required, just go for it!

3D Objects:

Explore materials and ways to combine them into 3-D objects. We’ll be building forms with wire, acrylic, a spray foam and a two-part foam and or encaustic in various combinations with found objects and other optional materials. Included is my Power Point presentation of artists working today with various materials and installations in exciting ways. We will also look at various options hanging the work.

Wonderflex
In these sessions we’ll be using a material called Wonderflex which we’ll heat and form. The material hardens into shape as it cools! GREAT fun!

Fosshape:

Fosshape is a unique material which you can dye, cut and heat to form semi rigid objects. It’s amazing to work with – come explore the MANY possibilities!

Mixed Media Abstract and Abstract Landscape painting on Yupo – nice and loose:

Explore approaches to abstraction and abstraction inspired by nature, working with using additive and subtractive methods to create a variety of line quality, washes and form which can be applied to abstraction, non-representational or image based work. We’ll be using Artgraf, watercolor, inks and more!

Abstraction in Oil, Acrylic or Encaustic:

Explore the elements of composition, color, molding paste textures, washes, splashes, opacity, form, line and so much more. This session includes a PDF on abstraction and exercises to help develop your personal sense of composition, color, mark making and more.

Alcohol Inks, Brusho Inks (and collage optional) on Yupo:

In this session we’ll be manipulating inks with various tools to create transparent overlays, utilizing the natural reactions of ink on Yupo to lead the way. The paper can then be cut to collage.

Encaustic or Oil Portrait / Figure Painting

In this session, we’ll be working from a model or photography – working on proportions, color mixing and various approached to the figure.

Photography and Encaustic:

In this session, I’ll be sharing the best paper I’ve found for printing which also receives encaustic wax really well, along with various techniques for collage. We’ll work with pigment sticks, ink and paint to enhance the image. We can also do a pour and work on ways to scale up.

Mixed Media

In this session, well be using monotypes and painting in acrylic, speedball inks, gouache, alcohol inks and various collage processes to create dynamic compositions.
