Performance Support Grants
This is a friendly reminder from Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) that the next deadline for Arts Respond Performance Support applications is coming up. The deadline is Monday, August 3, 2020 by 11:59 PM CDT for online submission. Your deadline for attachments is also Monday, August 3. Please email attachments to [email protected]. This program provides professional artist fees to schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations for hiring an artist from TCA’s Texas Touring Roster to do a performance. These applications are funded based on a percentage of contracted fees.
For this deadline, your activities need to begin between September 1, 2020 and December 14, 2020, but they can extend through the end of August 2021 if you are working with a Texas Touring Roster artist long term. You may submit more than one application at this deadline. Staff is happy to review drafts and provide constructive feedback. Send an email request to [email protected] with your contact information.
COVID-19 Accommodations for this Program
During social distancing, virtual performances and work is okay, but it must include a live, interactive element. If a live stream of a performance is not possible, a live online introduction, workshop, Q & A, and/or meet & greet can provide the live, interactive element. It is helpful to outline these details in your contract with the artist.
If you are hiring an artist for a planned in-person event, we encourage you and the artist to discuss a contingency plan in case that event cannot be held as anticipated, and to outline that plan in the performance contract.
