The City of San Marcos Mural Arts Committee seeks to commission a professional visual artist or artist team to design and paint a pair of murals with an anti-littering theme. The murals will be located on bridge barrier walls that face each other on opposite sides of the roadway. Currently the low walls are painted solid blue. Location is near 297 CM Allen Pkwy by the Children’s Park in San Marcos, Texas.

The Bernalillo County Arts Board solicits a call for artists for the Alvarado Square Chambers Mural, an indoor, site specific mural project for Bernalillo County @ Alvarado Square, the new home for Bernalillo County government offices. The Alvarado Square Chambers Mural will be located inside the building on the south-facing wall outside of the County Commission Chambers. The mural will be visible to the public both from inside the building and outside from Silver Avenue through glass windows.  Additionally, the design and imagery for the mural will be used in the creation of an acrylic/glass art element to be placed on top of the casework behind the building’s concierge desk and form a screen for the building’s glass elevators. The established budget for this project is $50,000. The winning artist or team will create the concept and design of the mural, engage in community outreach, and implement installation. The mural will be culturally relevant and represent Bernalillo County.

New Mexico Arts’ Art in Public Places program announces the 2019 US Native and Indigenous Artists Purchase Initiative. The goal of this initiative is to diversify the state’s public art collection by purchasing artwork from artists in all stages of their careers who identify as members of a Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Alaska Native tribe or community. The project is open to Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Alaska Native artists who reside in the United States as well as galleries in the U.S. who sell the work of Native Artists. Galleries may submit qualifications on behalf of any artist represented by the gallery, regardless of the artist’s residency, so long as the artist identifies as a member of a Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Alaska Native tribe or community.

Selected artist will design a custom site-specific artwork for a design fee of $10,000. Based on the selected artist’s concept proposal, and in consultation with the artist, LIT may contract for the fabrication and installation using a separate budget with an outside contractor or may contract with the selected artist for fabrication and installation. 

To be eligible, artists must currently reside in Arkansas or have lived, worked or studied in the state.

To be eligible, artists must currently reside in Arkansas or have lived, worked or studied in the state.

There is an additional artwork opportunity at LIT for a wall-mounted artwork. To be considered for both projects, artists will have to apply for both opportunities separately.
