Alla prima or wet-on-wet , is a painting technique in which layers of wet paint are applied to previously administered layers of wet paint. Used mostly in oil painting, the technique requires a fast way of working, because the work has to be finished before the first layers have dried. By the end of this workshop you will have a 16 x20 portrait on canvas completed or nearly completed.

The objective of painting Alla Prima is to finish the artwork on one sitting. All materials supplied. Bring a reference portrait image of someone you would like to paint or yourself if you would like a self-portrait. More information will be provided upon enrollment before the workshop date

RESERVATION REQUIRED – Please note that students may be required to wear a mask and have a temperature check before entering the classroom. Class limit of 10.

Cost: $35 workshop fee + $10 materials fee = $45. Pay through PayPal – bring to the first class if you can’t pay through PayPal.
