MARY TOMÁS GALLERY is pleased to present two solo exhibitions that feature new works by gallery artists Chong Keun ChuFrom The Garden To The Garden and Roy TamboliBreakthrough Chicot

Through their chosen medium of paint the two artists are masterful storytellers that express their individual and spiritual beliefs in the context of a greater world vision. Chong Keun Chu continues to explore his Korean-American ideas through the lens of the fragmented postmodern cultural society, personal experiences and faith in his series From The Garden To The Garden. Chu’s vibrantly hued, contemporary paintings, combine abstract symbolic dots, lines, shapes, forms, textures and colors that turn into recognizable images of figures, landscapes and gardens. Roy Tamboli ignites a space with his expressive abstract painting style in his latest work Breakthrough Chicot. Tamboli goes deep into new creative territory by inserting very personal stories and worldly observations into his explosive, imaginative imagery. A physically active painter the artist takes his large scale canvases rolled up to paint while traveling all over Italy or Mexico and then completes the work with multiple layers of color in his studio in Memphis. His bold technique reflects a spirit of creative liberty, individualism, abundance and risk that tap into an optimistic divine power.
