Weatherford Art Sept. 23rd Meeting: Nocturne demo by Don MacLaughlin

Weatherford Art meets the 4th Monday of each month at 6:00 PM.  125 South Waco (Barlow Hall).  Artist of the Month Competition begins at 6:00PM with demos following each month.

Award Winner Don MacLaughlin will present a demo on completing a nocturne painting. He will show us how to turn a daytime painting into a nighttime painting. Don’t miss this!!!

Don MacLaughlin is a local cattle rancher and former businessman. He began his second career as an artist in 2004 when he took art classes at the University of New Mexico in Taos and was hooked. Inspired by the details of ordinary life, Don paints images that reveal emotion and expression. He works with both live models and photographs. Don is involved with Chisholm Trail Art Association, Gainesville Area Visual Art Guild, Wichita Falls Art Association and the Plano Art Association. The purpose of the Weatherford Art Association (“WAA”) is to promote art appreciation among our members and the general public through educational activities, instructional programs, lectures, class ins truction and public display and sales of fine art. Membership is open to all active artists willing to participate in the activities and maintenance of the Association on a regular basis. Inactive artists and non-artists who display an active interest in WAA’s purposes may also become members. Membership dues are payable each September. Adult, family and youth memberships are available.
