There is a whole world of beauty and discovery just out of reach of your regular camera lens. The macro world reveals textures, structures, colors and patterns that delight the eye and can be used to create stunning and satisfying photos.
Many people think that macro work requires specialized and expensive lenses and lighting. That’s not true! While macro lenses are the gold standard for this type of work, there are inexpensive accessories that can equal or better the high end gear in terms of creativity and flexibility. And lighting can be from a window, flashlight or just available room light. The instructor shot all of the photos on this page using the techniques that will be discussed in class.
In a full day of exploration, you’ll use your own gear as well as accessories that we’ll have on hand to get really close and record your own unique view of the small world.
