You are invited to a presentation and demo on acrylic flow painting by Artist Robin Butt on Wednesday, September 6th at 6:45 pm, at the Patterson-Appleton Art’s Center at 400 E Hickory Street in Denton, Texas.
Robin is VAST’s Artist of the Year for 2023. She is a local Denton artist who has been a member of VAST since the 80’s. Robin’s journey started in Philadelphia where she attended the Tyler School of Art and received her BFA in Painting and Printmaking.
She later studied Occupational Therapy at TWU in Denton. Her love of art was translated into helping others in art therapy for psychiatric clients, and creatively achieving occupational therapy goals in Home Health Care.
Robin is now semi-retired from therapy and is concentrating on her artwork – exhibiting and selling her paintings in galleries. Robin continues to sketch and draw while exploring the environment, whether that is an ocean, a mountain range, a waterfall, or a beautiful sunset.
Robin has served as VAST historian and ran the mini-show for 10 years. She is now volunteering at the Art Room in Denton.
Robin is married to Harlan Butt, a renowned metalsmith and has accompanied him on many camping and traveling adventures while he does his own artwork.
The presentation is free for VAST Members and $5 for guests.
