OPEN CALL for the 2nd annual MillHouse MuralFest at the historic Cotton Mill in McKinney, TX.
ARTISTS: THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE HISTORY AT THE MCKINNEY COTTON MILL!
Your mural will be part of the MillHouse Public Art Program, joining several murals adorning the north side of the Cotton Mill building and 14 murals from last year’s MuralFest on the south side. If selected, you will leave your mark on a century-old building and out-buildings — literally.
You have two opportunities to participate in the McKinney mural festival. You may apply for more than one mural category to increase the odds of your participation in the festival; however, you will only be selected for one. There is no fee for submissions. The 2023 murals will be 2 year installations. The deadline for submissions is MARCH 31, 2023.
Selected muralists will be compensated with a $500 stipend for the work. Paint will be provided. Funding is being provided by The McKinney Arts Commission, Individual Sponsors, MillHouse Foundation, and The Cotton Mill. Details can be found at: www.millhousefoundation.org/muralfest
Festival Dates and Hours: Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4 from 11 am-5 pm. Friday evening June 2 is the Meet-the-Artists VIP reception.
Mural Fest is open to the public with free admission. VIP PASSES will be available.
