James will also offer a one day, 4 hour workshop on creating portraits using his blocking and drawing methods using pastels on

8×10 photo with at least 5″ of head and shoulders – can be cut from magazines, enlarge if necessary, kneaded eraser, charcoal sticks (willow or grapevine), 18×24 newsprint, 24×24 drawing board (Masonite boards will work), bulldog clips, pastel paper or tablet at least 16×20 – 18×24 preferred, white or gray pastel paper (gray preferred), or a gray mat board cut into quarters, small set of pastels (sanguine, white and black will used the most), wipes to clean hands
