| The tour will continue to the renowned Karpidas Collection. On view will be Richard Prince: Selections from The Karpidas Collection – featuring over 40 photographs, paintings, and drawings. This exhibition marks the first major solo exhibition of the acclaimed artist’s work in the state of Texas. Organized in collaboration with Prince, one of the most influential artists of his generation, the nearly retrospective exhibition spans four decades of Prince’s oeuvre, from the iconic Marlboro cowboys to the infamous Instagram portraits. The Karpidas collection is one of Dallas’ major private art collections. Started by Pauline Karpidas in the 1970s the collection now holds a vast inventory of masterworks by Andy Warhol and Urs Fischer among others.The bus tour will continue with a box lunch provided on the bus while traveling to the Goldmark Cultural Center. Residing artists will open their studios to the touring guests. Once an office complex, the Goldmark Cultural Center was converted into an arts and cultural center for our area in December 2017. The Cultural Center currently provides art studio space to more than 120 artists, and many exhibitions have been displayed in the Cultural Center’s two main galleries.The tour will conclude at Laura Rathe Fine Art. On view will be Traces, a two-woman exhibition featuring new works by Mexico City artist Lucrecia Waggoner and Los Angeles artist Audra Weaser.Your ticket purchase supports the CADD Scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Booker T.
