The Annual Texas Artists Coalition Juried Show is a yearly exhibition of TAC member artwork across all media.
This years Juror is Narong Tintamusik.
Juror’s Statement:
As I was selecting pieces for the show, I noticed that the works generally communicate themes of harmony and discord. While living within this collective period of strife and anxiety, artists are sensitive individuals that respond to stimuli in different ways. I observed works that directly portrayed one’s psychological states or immediate surroundings. Ideas of fragmentation, disembodiment, overstimulation coexists with moments of serenity, peace, mending, and wholeness. The art is talking more about the “now” instead of portraying what occurred or what will happen. Being in the present with these works means reconciling any edginess we may feel in order to be tranquil again.
About the Juror:
Narong Tintamusik is an artist and independent curator based in Dallas, TX. He obtained his Biology undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Dallas with a minor in visual arts in 2014. His work investigates trauma at the intersection of mental health, biology, and the supernatural. As a survivor of abuse, his practice is autobiographical and drawn from lived experiences. He has exhibited in group shows locally in Dallas, TX and beyond including New York, Canada, and Germany. Solo exhibitions include 500X (Dallas, TX), Plush Gallery (Dallas, TX), Tarleton State University (Stephenville, TX), and Angelina College (Lufkin, TX). He is the recipient of the DeGoyler Memorial Fund (Dallas Museum of Art 2015), Art Walk West Microgrant (West Dallas Chamber of Commerce 2021), and the Puffin Foundation Grant (Puffin Foundation 2022). He is a part of artist-run gallery 500X since 2019
