Artspace111 is pleased to announce an open call for submissions for the 9th annual Artspace111 Texas Juried Exhibition, juried by Daisha Board, Owner and Director of Daisha Board Gallery

The competition includes eligibility for 2D and 3D artwork. The exhibition will be open July 16th through August 27th with an opening reception on July 16th. Due date for entries is Tuesday, May 31st Contemporary 2D and 3D works that follow the requirements detailed in the prospectus are eligible for acceptance, artwork selected by the juror from the eligible submissions will be included in the Texas Juried Exhibition at Artspace111 and are eligible for cash awards.

A total of $5000 will be awarded, and the “Best In Show” prize will include a cash award of $2000 and the opportunity to exhibit at Artspace111 in a separate solo or group exhibition in 2022-2023.

*ALL ENTRANTS* will have the option to be included in the Texas Now Online Showcase 2022 following the 9th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition. After a successful pilot program, Artspace111 will include all entrants to the juried exhibition in an online showcase where the artwork can be collected online by Texas art collectors! $5.00 from each submission will be donated to the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

In 2020, entrants to the Texas Juried Exhibition raised enough money to provide 15,000 meals to the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Read more about their work here: www.tafb.org.

About the Juror:

Daisha Board is the Owner and Director of Daisha Board Gallery, a contemporary art gallery representing BIPOC artists, located in Dallas, Texas. Over the years she has worked as an advocate for increased visibility for BIPOC artists in traditional and non-traditional art spaces. In 2017, she founded Black Sheep Art Culture Inc., to ensure representation of marginalized artists. She served as Curator for Holding Space at 500x in Dallas, and Honorary Curator for the Kinsey Collection/ African American Museum of Dallas, in addition to curating multiple shows through Black Sheep Art Culture. Additionally, she has given talks across North Texas in addition to Museum Tours at the Dallas Contemporary. You can find articles about her gallery and curatorial work in many publications including Glasstire, DFW Living and The Dallas Observer. “I’m delighted to be chosen as the juror for the 9th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition at Artspace111.
