Summer is when our ORIGIN formation series happens. With our opening event now behind us, I’d love for you to consider journeying with us through the companion reader by joining a discussion group.
These groups will be offered both in-person and virtually, are a great way to meet others in the AHD community, and dig into what patience holds for our often over-busied lives. Throughout the series, you’ll encounter theologians such as Dr. Stanley Hauerwas and Marva Dawn, poetry from Wendell Berry and other local poets, and stunning visual art from Bruce Herman, Phaedra Taylor, and more. Every session is balanced with Scripture, reflection, and prayer. This is an excellent opportunity to slow down during the summer months and engage with meaningful content.
For the writers in our community, we are bringing back one of our favorite events — For the Love of Words! We’ll hear from Sara Hill, a non-fiction writer and nurse, and Tasha Hutchinson, author of the upcoming novel Broken Petals.
We also have our regular Feedback nights for Visual Artists, Writers, and Songwriters, with a special in-person Songwriters Workshop on Saturday, June 11, with speaker and singer-songwriter Christine Hand.
