Pets, People, and Places Exhibit reception Dec. 2 at the Martin Place

Join us for the artist reception on December 2nd for the artist reception for Rebecca Johnson and Alice Shelton. Rebecca Johnson has always loved to draw and paint. Somewhere along the way, her love for all of God’s creatures took over. Custom pet portraits have become her specialty. Her goal is to capture the unique personality of each pet – to make them look touchable, alive, and exactly like you own beloved pet. Her portraits are done in oil, pastel, colored pencil, or graphite pencil – whatever suits the client and the pet. In addition to pets, Rebecca paints people, birds, and Plein air landscapes. She is available for custom art orders of any subject.

Alice Shelton grew up in Ft. Worth enjoying art from her early years. It was not until later in life that she became classically trained and has dedicated her life to painting. She particularly lives wildlife, varied aspects of nature and includes some portraiture in her paintings. Alice uses oil as her preferred medium. The love of rich color and detail coupled with emotion is what she concentrates on to convey in her work. Impressionism is also another style she includes in her portfolio. Awards include 1st place Animal Portraiture Unique by Nature McKinney, Semi-Finalist International Realism Arc Salon, and 2nd Place Canvas Art, American Airlines North Texas Business.

The exhibition is on display from December 2nd through December 31st during business hours, Monday to Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Martin Place in McKinney http://www.themartinplace.com
