July 28th – August 28th at the Blue House Too Gallery in Allen, Texas, a national collegiate exhibition centered around the theme of free speech will feature compelling and thought-provoking works by university students from around the United States.
Through 2D and 3D visual art and poetry the students explore an expansive array of themes centered on free speech and a wide range of complex societal issues.
When do words become injurious? When should censorship be invoked to protect a certain group of people?
… showing the journey of going back to your roots and unveiling who you truly are…
…share awareness about sea life and soon to be extinct animals. As well, to share the ability to speak up about the issue.
The feelings of anger and confusion our youth feel around climate change.
…how we should not censor old books and old values simply because we do not like them anymore.
…the fear that if we speak, we will face consequences for our words.
…the loss of free speech through generations of lost identity.
The message of MLK continues to be spread and advocated for. His dream is still shared in unforeseen ways made possible through modern technology.
…within the freedom of speech, it can still be hard to find a way to express yourself.
…the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly within the Asian American community.

The exhibition is open to the public and runs from July 28 – August 28 at Blue House Too Gallery in Allen, Texas.
The artist reception will be held on Friday, August 6th from 6-9 pm.
