On Tuesday, August 10th at 7:00 p.m. in Classroom 2, our speaker for the
month will be Katie Brinkley.
This meeting will take place at the Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N.
Charles Street in Lewisville. This event is open to the public and there is no charge.
Through opening Vantage Point Art Gallery, a display space for local
artists on the square in Gainesville, and adding public murals to
downtown, Katie’s hope is that these contributions add something to the
Arts culture and inspire more creativity. She’ll be speaking about the
vision and outline of Vantage Point Gallery, as well as the process of
her mural work.
_Her interest in art and desire to help people in need led her to her
first profession in orthotics and prosthetics, where I have had an
outlet to create art in designing and fabricating braces and prosthetic
limbs for people. This profession led her to an opportunity to do
mission work serving as a board member and volunteer
prosthetist/orthotist with Prosthetic Promises In His Name, a non-profit
focused on providing prosthetic services in Zambia, Africa..
