Town and Country invites submissions from Texas-based artists, or those with a deep interest or background in Texas, who work within the expanded conceptual and material field of painting. Juried by Chad Dawkins, the exhibition is presented as part of Is Texas Painting?: 2020 Texas Painting Symposium.
The symposium title is a provocative – yet open – inquiry into current practices in painting. Likewise, Town and Country imposes no restriction on the thematic content of submitted works, and does not presume to delimit the varied material forms that painting may take (video, 3D, etc.). The exhibition will be held in the HDJ Studio Gallery at LHUCA (Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts) in Lubbock, TX.
