Description:
This portrait oil painting class will cover the method of wet-on-wet painting called alla prima. Students will learn color mixing, anatomy, composition, controlling brushstrokes, and rendering.
Multiple lectures and demonstrations held during the class will cover various aspects of painting the portrait from life. There will be an emphasis on approaching the painting from very simple and general to specific and precise.
Students will gain a strong understanding of how to successfully make the painting accurate in its proportions, light effect, and subtle coloration.
