The Creative Arts Center Offers More Than 500 Classes & Workshops a Year
DALLAS, TX – October 3, 2019 – Whether it’s a holiday gift or your personal New Year’s resolution, the Creative Arts Center of Dallas (CAC) offers gift certificates in any dollar amount to take one of its 500 classes and workshops in a number of disciplines from mosaic to metal.
According to a recent finding by JPMorgan, millennials would rather spend their money on experiences than on stuff. “Spending money on experiences tends to have a longer-lasting and more substantial payoff,” says Jean Chatsky, financial editor of NBC’s “Today” show. Even planning an activity so they have something to look forward to is a happiness driver and then creating those memories that often involve interacting with others, says Chatsky.
“Our spring enrollment is always very strong,” says Diana Pollak, Executive Director of the Creative Arts Center of Dallas. “I can’t tell you how many people want to take an art class and lose 10 pounds as a New Year’s resolution.” According to Pollak, the millennials who enroll in CAC are often interested in very tactile disciplines – ceramics, mosaic, welding. “They really want to get their hands dirty, says Pollak.
Located on a two-acre campus four miles east of downtown Dallas, CAC offers a safe-haven for all levels in such disciplines as ceramics, clay sculpture, drawing, glass, jewelry, metal arts, mosaic, painting, photography, printmaking and stone carving. The 53-year-old organization also offers free arts programming to underserved and at-risk children. Not only a visual arts school, CAC is also a thriving arts community for a diverse range of students from teens to seniors.
