Carousel: Public Art installed on East Rosedale Street

FORT WORTH PUBLIC ART
New Public Art installed on East Rosedale Street

Fort Worth Public Art welcomes Carousel, a newly completed public art project installed in the roundabout at East Rosedale Street and Mitchell Boulevard in Council District 8.

A beautiful new addition to the Fort Worth Public Art Collection, the artwork is in the form of a “carousel”, with six large, colorful parrots (a reference to the mascot of nearby Polytechnic High School and the importance of education). Its theatrical quality references the Jubilee Theatre, which was established in this neighborhood, and the theatre department at Texas Wesleyan University (TWU). Designed as a stationary “carousel” meant to be experienced by motorists driving around it, the artwork serves as a metaphor for the circle of life. Installed in August, 2019, it will be dedicated in November, 2019, at a time and date to be determined.
