AMoA Biennial 600: Textile/Fiber

The AMoA Biennial 600: Textile/Fiber will be an exhibition of artworks selected by a juror from entries submitted by artists residing within a 600-mile radius of Amarillo, Texas. The exhibition will be on view October 11—December 22, 2019.

Juror: Alec Unkovic, Exhibitions Manager at The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM), Philadelphia, PA.

Any artwork consisting primarily of textile/fiber material and technique may be submitted for consideration. Artists whose work could be sited outdoors are encouraged to submit proposals, as are artists with installation-based practices. 

AMoA Biennial 600: Textile/Fiber is the eighth in an ongoing series of juried biennial exhibitions exploring specific areas of artistic practice, material, and content.  Previous exhibition focuses include Drawing, Clay, Glass, Figurative Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Architecture. This year, the AMoA is excited to offer the museum’s exhibition spaces to artists working with textile/fiber.

The Center for Contemporary Arts is excited to announce our third National Juried Art Competition: CCAN! 2019! The field of interest for this competition includes painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital and fiber arts.  This competition will be national as well as local in its reach. San Francisco- based watercolor artist, Gary Bukovnik has agreed to be our judge for this exciting competition for 2019. Abilene, TX.


218 Co-Op Tiny Art of Texas

218 CO-OP in San Marcos, Texas announces a Call for Entries for its 2019 Tiny Art of Texas Show (TATx). This juried exhibition will celebrate Texas fine artists who create work on a small scale, in a broad range of media and styles. All 2D, 3D, and time-based artwork is eligible that does not exceed 10 inches (10″) in any direction, including the frame or support. The call will be open from Thursday, June 20 – Friday, September 20, 2019. The exhibition will be on display from Thursday, November 7, 2019 to Sunday, December 1, 2019 during normal business hours, in the unique and beautiful 218 Co-Op Gallery, located at 218 N. Guadalupe Street, in the heart of San Marcos, Texas. An Opening Awards Reception will take place on Saturday,  November 9, 2019.

The Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show attracts works by contemporary artists across the country and is judged by a guest juror of national stature.  Resulting Purchase Awards have built an impressive Permanent Collection at Del Mar College, Corpus Christi.

This year’s 54th show runs February 21, 2020, opening reception 6-8 p.m., and closes May 8, 2020.  Accepted artwork is displayed in the distinctive Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery.
