Designed for beginning to intermediate artists ages 17 and older, this two-part introductory encaustic painting workshop will be offered on two consecutive Saturdays, March 9 and 16. The workshop will provide hands‐on instruction in the materials, techniques, and tools of Encaustic Painting. After a brief history lesson in this ancient art form, participants will be able to make as many test panels as they wish and go home with their own 8” x 12” finished painting. About the Instructor
Matthew Jones is an Arlington based artist who recently received his MFA in Painting from University of Dallas, Irving, TX (UD). He is represented by Beaudry Gallery in Dallas’ design district and has taught at TCU. Matthew has exhibited at the Irving Arts Center, Oak Cliff Cultural Center, Shipping and Receiving in Fort Worth, Art 7 Gallery in Fort Worth, Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery at University of Dallas, Royal Contemporary in Florence, CO, Urban Art Center in Columbus, OH and at Chaffey Community Museum of Art in Ontario, CA.
