Painters of All Mediums Welcome
In this Four 1/2 hour workshop, you will learn how to mix the colors you need from a limited palette of eight, basic colors.
The morning session will begin at 9:30am on February 23, 2019, with a short demo showing the colors on the color wheel and how they relate to your palette. You will then practice mixing these colors with materials provided by the class. Please bring a small notebook and pen to take notes. After an hour break, you will use your own paints and materials to accomplish a full range of colors.
Schedule:
Morning Session: 9:30am-12:00pm
Work with instructor learning how to mix colors. (Please take notes)
Discover special pigments that are unique and cannot be mixed.
Set up your own paints and materials needed for the afternoon session.
Lunch: 12:00 Noon -1:00pm
Bring sack lunch and drink or go to local restaurant
Afternoon Session: 1:00pm-3:00pm
Work with your own medium and supplies to mix the colors learned in the morning session. (oil painters, please only bring odorless paint thinner)
Bring a painting that you have completed that you feel needs some color correction.
You may also bring a painting that you are currently working on.
Ruth Francis will provide individual help for each student as needed.
Recommended colors to have in your preferred medium:
Cadmium Red, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow, Alizarin Crimson, Phthalo Blue, Lemon Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber
Optional: Dioxazine Purple, Sap Green
