The Grapevine Art Project launched a full 2019 exhibition schedule with a large show at the Keller City Hall. The show will be open during January and February, and is free to the public. Over 100 paintings and photographs and several dozen pieces of jewelry and pottery are on exhibit.
Because the Keller show is juried, the Keller Arts Board selected winners in each of the four main categories:
The Best of Show award went to Ray Kingsburg for his work “Traditions.”
First place in Painting went to Charice Cooper for “Foggy River Crossing.”
First place in Photography went to Bruce Rosenstiel for “Madagascar Market.”
First place in Jewelry went to Naomi Fron for “Fuschia Waves.”
First place in Pottery went to Sue Jackson for “Manzanilla
Covered Jar.”
Second place and Honorable Mention ribbons were also awarded, and the listing is available on the Grapevine Art Project website. During the January 10 artist reception, a People’s Choice vote was held and the winner was Mark Sadiwala for his large painting of four horses titled “Return to Freedom.”
During March, GAP will have an exhibition of paintings and photographs at the Grapevine REC. This exhibition is free to the public.
K.C. Hulsman announced an exhibition through March 1 at Keller Elm Street Studio. Titled “Life in Frame,” this exhibition will feature a number of works by the award-winning photographer. There is a free artist reception on Friday, February 1 at 6 p.m. at the studio, located at 139 S. Elm St. in Keller. A portion of all exhibition sales will be donated by Hulsman to the Humane Society of North Texas.
The Grapevine Art Project holds monthly meetings on the second Thursday evening of each month, often featuring presentations and demonstrations from highly regarded artists in many diverse media. Visitors are welcome to attend and learn more about the organization, its members, and programs. Artists include painters, photographers, potters, jewelers, sculptors, weavers, and other visual media formats. New members, even those who are not artists, are always welcome.
